Clear Braces

If you’re unhappy with your smile because of misaligned teeth, our Fresno dentists, Dr. Braden Callister and Dr. Don Christensen, are here to help.

You may have considered braces, but did not want a mouth full of metal and wires. Fortunately, we offer ClearCorrect in Fresno, CA, and we are also certified with Invisalign.

These therapies help adults and older teenagers achieve straight teeth without the embarrassment of metal and wires.

The First Step to a Straight Smile Is an Exam

Everything starts with a clear braces orthodontic exam with one of our Fresno, CA dentists. At this consultation, one of our dentists will determine whether clear braces are the best and safest option for you—this exam may include x-rays if there are no recent images on file.

At this appointment, you will also discuss your goals for your smile!

If it’s determined that clear braces are a good option for you, we will take an impression of your teeth and gums. This impression is used to create clear aligner trays for your ClearCorrect or Invisalign therapy.

How Clear Aligners Work

Invisalign and ClearCorrect in Fresno, CA rely on a series of clear aligners to gradually bring your teeth in line. Every few weeks, you change your aligner to help move the process along. Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are made of soft plastic, which don't poke and pinch your lips and gums and are designed to feel more comfortable inside your mouth.

Since you switch trays every two weeks yourself this means teeth get straightened faster with less dental visits and no monthly "tightening" or replacing broken bracket visits. We will only need to see you every few months to monitor, to see that things are moving along nicely. If things aren't moving along as planned, the dentist may need to take new impressions partway through to get new trays to make sure things get back on track to achieve your perfect smile!

Cosmetic Issues Addressed with ClearCorrect and Invisalign

Clear braces are designed to correct only mild and some moderate alignment issues including:

  • Twisted teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Overlapping teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Bite issues
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Some moderate and severe cases may not qualify for clear aligner therapy

The Benefits of Clear Braces

Clear braces don’t’ scratch or poke your cheeks or feel bulky inside your mouth, and they are virtually invisible.

Additionally, cleaning your teeth is much easier because you can remove your aligners after eating. This means there are no dietary restrictions and no flossing around cumbersome wires.

Following therapy, you’ll have a straight bite, which means even bite force and decreased stress and wear on your teeth.

It is also easier to brush and floss straight teeth and keep them clean because there are no nooks or overlapping where bacteria or plaque can hide.

Other benefits of clear aligners include:

  • Straight and even looking smile
  • Lower risk of getting cavities since teeth are easier to clean
  • Less risk of gum disease and bone loss
  • Less risk of cracked and broken teeth
  • Slow down wear of teeth

After Treatment
